Hamro Sahakarya Project – Activities at Mahabharat Rural Municipality

The Hamro Sahakarya Project, led by CDWN, aims to empower communities, foster gender equality, and challenge harmful social practices. Our work focuses on raising awareness, building leadership, and promoting collective action among families, local leaders, and communities.

As part of our initiative, we conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) using the Gender Transformative Dialogue Manual, Year 3. The training emphasized Organizing and Collective Action for Change, helping participants understand how social change occurs and their role in engaging families, communities, and local leaders to create lasting impact.

Poem Competition – “My Voice Against Child Marriage”
We hosted a Poem Competition at Gramonnati Secondary School, Mahabharat-6, encouraging students to creatively voice their opposition to child marriage. Students showcased their talents, and winners received prizes and certificates for their inspiring performances.

Community Action Plan (CAP) Sessions
Two CAP sessions focused on child marriage were organized for local women, alongside Year 3 module sessions. These sessions strengthened leadership, awareness, and collective action, fostering community engagement in promoting gender equality and ending harmful practices.Through these activities, CDWN continues to empower communities, raise awareness, and nurture collective action to create a society free from harmful social norms and practices.
